Laser engraving QR codes to tell coffee beans apart

I usually have more than one bag of coffee beans open at home. The beans go into containers with wooden caps, and after a few days I no longer know which beans are in which container. They all look the same.

So I gave every container a label that cannot fall off. I laser engraved a QR code into each wooden cap.

Each QR code opens a small page on this website with the details of the beans: the origin, the flavor notes, the variety and the roaster.

These are the beans I have at the moment:

The engraving is permanent, but the target of the QR code is not. I can change where each code points. When a container gets new beans, I point its code to the page of the new coffee. I never have to engrave a new cap.
